The Oak Inn Review, Christchurch

The Oak Inn is nestled down a narrow lane in Burton, Christchurch and proudly owned by Mick and Gill Macauley – a husband and wife team from Southend-on-Sea, Essex. Cleary this friendly couple have put much care and effort into presenting their small and friendly pub that offers a fantastic Sunday roast dinner.

Bistro Christophe Review, Bruges

I just can’t say enough good things about Bistro Christophe in Bruges. The staff are welcoming and helpful, offering guidance on the best menu options, though in truth everything here must be amazing – these people know what they are doing and how to cook!

Review: King Alfred’s Kitchen, Shaftesbury

After leaving home late with no time for morning coffee we arrive in the small market town of Shaftesbury both hungry and thirsty so our first port of call has to be somewhere to replenish.  Only moments after we step out of the car do we find what looks to be a truly tradition English [...]

Review: Cavendish Hotel in Bournemouth

The main reason for my trip however was to attend the Great Dorset Steam Fair in Tarrant Hinton, and what a sight for the eyes, and surprise to the nostrils it was! Brasserie Gerard Marlborough Review

We were certainly not disappointed with the appetizers – the Snails had that perfect and subtle blend of earthiness with the garlic and parsley lending to its overall flavour…

Lunch at the Urban Beach Hotel

Located within a short drive to where I live, and a five minute plus walk to the beach, it makes the ideal location for lunch, a drink, and a place to sit and do some work with the added free WiFi. In the summer months Urban Beach has outdoor seating which makes it very popular with the locals and others from further afield

Ye Olde George Inn Review – Christchurch

The George Inn at Christchurch is not a bad place for a quick meal like a sandwich. I am reluctant to recommend it for anything else. To be quite honest as I write this now my stomach feels a bit rough from the amount of oil on the pizza.

Summer Barbeque at the Langtry Manor

This afternoon I attended the Langtry Manor Hotel end of Summer BBQ for their Diner Club. A small polite affair that reminded me of one of those Southern USA type of barbecues
